Oct 13- Prompt: Write about a time when you realized that your perception of a particular food was based on a stereotype. Explain what the food was, what you originally believed about it, and where that belief came from. Then describe how your perspective changed after experiencing or learning more about the food. Be sure to include specific details about the moment your thinking shifted and what you learned from that experience.

Response- As a kid I used to think that only women and girls were supposed to eat salad. It sounds random and I dont know where I got the idea from but I had only seen girls eating salad and guys would usually eat other things like burgers. I cant remember when but eventually I figured out on my own that guys eat salads to but I still had the idea that healthier food was more feminine. Obviously now I know that anyone can eat salad and food doesn't have an assigned gender it's supposed to be consumed by.

Summary- In class we worked on a paper with questions about a Netflix documentary.

Reflection- I learned about a New Orleans story about a girl that brought her community together through food.
